Courtesy

Last night I was reading a book. No, I'm not gonna give you the reviews of that book, but want to discuss one of a major topics. The book was about self-improvement, development of good habits and courtesy. Courtesy... the showing of politeness in one's attitude and behavior towards others. Islam also teaches us courtesy. After reading the whole book, my mind was swimming with thoughts. Does courtesy really works in my country? Okay... I'm not being an unpatriotic. Just writing the fact that courtesy means nothing here. It doesn't always work with people... sometimes you have to slap them back to earth. People are mean, so you have to be mean back. Being so nice is usually mistaken as weakness. Okay... I'm not asking you to expect something in return, my point is to explain that people misuse our kindness. I love my country but people here are so selfish and mean.
