Scorching Season

Hey everyone! My cousin will be having a poem competition after vacations and the topic is "Scorching Season". She asked me to help her and I really want to. So, I just wrote a weird poem (no experience), as I'm not a professional poetess. Please, give it a look and tell me that is it okay for the competition or do I have to work more in it?

Hey! Summer is here,

Get ready for the hot air,

It's the season to eat lots of ice-cream,

And to enjoy lots of stream.

Summer, no doubt, a scorching season,

But still I like it for some reason.

As it has the longest days in a year,

And the shortest nights for real.

Various tropical fruits are abundant in Summer,

And some people still find it bummer,

In summer, we get watermelons, mangoes & berries,

According to the season, the fruit varies.

The best thing about summer are the vacations,

And a very good season for outdoor actions,

Some love to enjoy outdoor with friends,

While some like to spend with family these summer trends.
